DOOR LOCKS

WARNING:
o Unlocked doors can be danger- ous. Before you drive away (es- pecially if there are children inthe car), be sure that all the doors are securely closed and locked so that the doors cannot be inad-vertently opened from the inside. This helps ensure that the doors will not be opened accidentally.Also, when combined with the proper use of seat belts, locking the doors helps keep occupantsfrom being ejected from the car in case of an accident.
o Before opening the door, always look for and avoid oncoming traffic.
o A locked-up vehicle can become
extremely hot, causing death or severe injury to unattended chil- dren, handicapped persons or animals who cannot escape thevehicle. Never leave children, handicapped persons or animals unattended in your vehicle.
o In case of accident, the door is unlocked automatically (If in-stalled).

o The door can be locked or unlocked
with a key.
o Lock the door by turning the key toward the front of the vehicle and unlock it by turning the key towardthe rear. OGK046002

Whenever a door is opened, the ignition switch will be illuminated for your con-venience, provided the ignition switch is not in the "ON" position. The light will go off approximately 10seconds after closing the door or when the ignition switch is turned on. B030C01E-1

To stop at the desired opening, pull up and release the switch. In order toprevent operation of the passenger front window by the passenger, a window lock switch (2) is provided on the armrest of the driver's door. To disable the passenger's power window, push the window lock switch. To revert to normaloperation, push in on the window lock switch again.

!WARNING:
1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door and theindividual door window switch inopposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened orclosed.
3) Do not leave children alone in the
car. Always remove the ignitionkey for their safety.
NOTE: The power windows can be operated for 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "LOCK"positions, or removed from the igni- tion switch. If the front doors are opened during this 30 second pe-riod, the power windows can no longer be operated without the igni- tion key turned to the "ON" position.

B130A01GK-AAT Rear Seat Entry (Walk in device) The driver and front passenger's seatbacks should be tilted to enter therear seat. By pulling up the walk in device lever (1) at the left-upper side of the driver sideseatback, the seatback will tilt forward. Then pull the lock release lever (2) up to move the seat forward. By pulling up the walk in device lever (1) at the right-upper side of the passengerside seatback, the seatback will tilt forward. Then push the seat forward to allow the occupants to enter. Accordingto accident statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seats than in the front seat. Largerchildren not in a child restraint should use one of the seat belts provided. You are required by law to use safetyrestraints for children. If small children ride in your vehicle you must put them in a child restraint system (safety seat).Child restraint systems are designed to be secured in vehicle seats by lap belts or the lap belt portion of a lap/shoulderbelt, or by a tether anchor and/or ISOFIX anchors (if installed). Children could be injured or killed in acrash if their restraints are not properly secured. For small children and ba- bies, a child seat or infant seat must beused. Before buying a particular child restraint system, make sure it fits your car and seat belts, and fits your child.Follow all the instructions provided by the manufacturer when installing the child restraint system.

If you need to tighten the belt, pull more webbing toward the retractor. When youunbuckle the seat belt and allow it to retract, the retractor will automatically revert back to its normal seated pas-senger emergency locking usage con- dition. NOTE:

B180B02GK-GAT Pre-tensioner Seat Belt (If Installed) Your Hyundai vehicle is equipped with driver's and front passenger's pre-tensioner seat belts. The purpose of the pre-tensioner is to make sure that the seat belts fit tightly against theoccupant's body in certain frontal col- lisions. The pre-tensioner seat belts can beactivated alone or, where the frontal collision is severe enough, together with the airbags. The pre-tensioner seat belt operates ina similiar way as an Emergency Lock-ing Retractor (ELR) type of seat belt. When the vehicle stops suddenly, or if the occupant tries to lean forward tooquickly, the seat belt retractor will lock into position. In certain frontal colli- sions, the pre-tensioner will activateand pull the seat belt into tighter contact against the occupant's body.
